JACOB VINALL
I’ve been using a camera since I was little, always fascinated by documenting life around me. I’ve shot everything from sport, tourism, fashion to portrait. With over 14 years of being a photographer I’ve learned that I enjoy shooting people and the raw moments in between.
After meeting the love of my life in 2021 I experimented with self portrait couple photography and the memories it held for me. It was the first time I really felt connected to the photos.
Which leads me to where I am now. I love authentic storytelling and capturing human connection. It’s the way you dance in the rain, ride bikes into the sunset, say ‘I love you’ without actually saying it.
I really enjoy going on adventures and exploring the world. I believe in creating time for yourself and experiencing life around you, which is why we set aside one day each week that we call an ‘us’ day.
This is a day where Chels and I switch off, be present, enjoy each others company and have fun with where we are in life.
Life can be busy, I get that. But just remember we don’t live forever.
Something you might not know about me is that I was professional wakeboarder for over 10 years. From touring America shooting a wakeboard movie, competing in events throughout Europe, to riding for Rip Curl and being on the front cover of their catalogues.
When it comes to your wedding day, not only do I know how to photograph it, but also how it feels to be the one standing there. I married my best friend at Fig Tree Restaurant, Byron Bay in November 2023. One of the best and most exciting days of my life, but I also know how stressful it can be planning, finding the right vendors and wondering if you’ve done everything correctly.
